Education for All Project: Supporting Vulnerable Children in Ntahangwa

Bujumbura Mairie, Ntahangwa – Cibitoke, Mutakura, Kinama, September 2023 — Vulnerable children across several neighborhoods in Ntahangwa commune received a boost to their education through the “Education for All Project The initiative was carried out by La Casa Humana Burundi (CAHUBU).

School materials were distributed to children in three key areas:

  • Bukirasazi: 8 children
  • Cibitoke: 7 children
  • Mutakura: 10 children

In total, 25 children — including 11 girls and 14 boys — were supported. For these children, the supplies were more than just notebooks and pens; they represented dignity, confidence, and the hope of a brighter academic future.

The event was marked by joy and gratitude. Children smiled as they received their materials, parents expressed heartfelt appreciation, and volunteers described the day as uplifting and inspiring. The initiative reminded the community that education is not only a pathway to knowledge but also a powerful tool to break cycles of vulnerability and poverty.

“We are proud to stand alongside these children, ensuring that they have the tools to learn, grow, and thrive,” said representatives of La Casa Humana Burundi. Their words echoed the organization’s mission to build inclusive and sustainable communities where every child has the opportunity to succeed.
