Casa Humana Burundi Celebrates Christmas with Vulnerable Children in Kamenge

Bujumbura, Burundi — December 29, 2023 Christmas is a season of love, sharing, and compassion. It is a time when communities come together to celebrate not only the birth of Christ but also the values He taught us generosity, kindness, and care for one another.

With immense joy, Casa Humana Burundi celebrated Christmas alongside children who are beneficiaries of its flagship program, Education for All. The celebration was marked by a shared meal, laughter, and fellowship, reminding everyone present that Christ came to share His love with us so that we may reshare it with others.

The event was not only about food and festivity. It was also a moment of reflection and testimony. Eighty-five children who had received school materials through the program shared their experiences, highlighting both the positive impact and the challenges they encountered during the first trimester of the school year. Their voices offered valuable insight into how access to education is transforming lives, while also pointing to the obstacles that remain.

“This celebration is more than a meal—it is a reminder that we must live fully and never forget to help others,” said one organizer. “Every act of solidarity strengthens our community and gives children the courage to pursue their dreams.”

The smiles of the children, their gratitude, and their stories of perseverance underscored the importance of collective action. For Casa Humana Burundi, Christmas was not simply a holiday—it was a reaffirmation of its mission to ensure that vulnerable children are supported, empowered, and given the chance to thrive.

This celebration stands as a testament to the belief that living well means helping others to live well too.
