Bujumbura, September 2023 — In the vibrant yet vulnerable community of Kamesa, commune Muha, at the heart of Bujumbura, more than one hundred children began their school year with renewed hope. Thanks to the initiative Project Education for All, 101 children from disadvantaged families received essential school supplies for the 2023–2024 academic year.
The distribution included notebooks, pens, and school bags—items that may seem ordinary, but for these children, they represent dignity, opportunity, and the chance to pursue education without the burden of scarcity.
“Education is not a luxury; it is a fundamental right,” organizers emphasized. “By providing these materials, we are not only lightening the burden of vulnerable families but also affirming the worth and potential of every child.”
Witnesses described the event as deeply moving, with smiles and sparks of joy lighting up the faces of the children. Organizers highlighted that this initiative is more than a one-time distribution—it is part of a broader movement to ensure that no child is left behind and that education becomes a tool to break cycles of poverty.
The project is a collaboration between three organizations:
